T1 Tomahawk Error Codes Table

On rare occasions, where there might be issues with the T1 Tomahawk Tool, error codes are displayed.  These error codes will most accurately help us identify issues with the T1 and determine the best way to correct.

Before contacting support, please try the following steps:

  • Restart T1 Tomahawk Tool by removing and replacing battery
  • If you recently installed firmware, reinstall firmware on tool as this solves most errors
  • Ensure you are using the most up to date version of the ROCK Jobsite App

If none of the above work, please reach out to us with an image of the e-paper display code along with your device Serial Name and we will be happy to assist.

  • Nathan, I was having a heck of a time getting mine to update correctly last night. What I ended up doing was DELETE the app, reinstall it, then try to update again. That’s what worked for me. I kept getting error code 64, 65, and 81.

  • I'm running iOS 17.2.1 (21C66) on a iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Upon attempting the first firmware update straight out of the box I receive the message in the app that firmware was updated, but upon looking at the OLED display received an error 64 on the OLED display.  I believe the ePaper display on the Tomahawk said firmware updated.  I think it took me a total of three or four attempts at updating the firmware via the app and finally the firmware update took and firm 0.4.9 was shown in the app.  The unsuccessful attempts all had error 64.  I didn't take any other steps like power cycling, deleting, reinstalling, etc.

After the firmware was updated I ran through the calibration steps without issue.

    Hopefully this helps someone.

  • Got it working by using my iPad instead of phone to upgrade. It’s kind of finicky.

  • I just got my T1 a few days ago. Was having a few issues. Error code 60,64,65,80,81. Tried several times to update the firmware. After deleting the app, reinstall app and reattempt it updated and let me calibrate the device.

That seems to be fixed, but the screen flickers occasionally. Not sure if that is a ongoing issue. Ill try and get a video of it.

  • The tool was working fine until I decided to try a firmware update from my wife's phone. Mine is not the right Android version. Now I have a brick because I can not update the thing. Feels like a waste of money at this point.

Feels like this issue should have been mentioned upon purchasing that you need to also buy a new device to be able to use the features on your measuring tape...
