The M1 Can measure almost any kind of flat material slid underneath it. The automatically adjusting arm ensures that anything within its actuation range can be properly measured.
Here are some tips to keep in mind when measuring with different materials for the best accuracy:
- M1 should be calibrated based on the material being measured
- Non-Flat cross sections (80/20 extrusions, pipes, etc) should be careful to pick a consistent area for the wheel to make contact with to ensure accurate measurements.
- Ideally, the wheel of the M1 should be in the center of the surface being measured. Measuring on the corner or other non-flat surface will cause a different amount of wheel deflection than the flat surface used during calibration.
