[T1M] Replacing the Blade Cartridge

If your T1M Utility requires a Blade Cartridge replacement, follow the steps below to safely remove the old cartridge and install a new one.

Before starting, ensure the device is powered off and have a #0 Phillips head screwdriver ready and you are wearing proper safety glasses.

Step 1: Disassemble the T1M Utility

  1. Remove the four silver Phillips head screws (two on each side) using a #0 Phillips head screwdriver.
  2. Pull forward on the yellow mouthpiece (where the blade exits) to slide the reader module out.
  3. Separate the upper reader module from the lower module by holding the lower half firmly and sliding the upper half forward with your thumb.
  4. Carefully rotate the lower reader module to detach it from the tape blade. (Caution: Be careful not to damage the bridge on the lower reader module.)
