Area Map in BOLDR Pro lets you place measurements on top of a floor plan or reference image for an entire Job, giving you a single visual canvas instead of managing separate file uploads for each Measurement Group.
What Is an Area Map?
Regular file uploads are attached at the Measurement Group level, so they only relate to that specific group. An Area Map, by contrast, is shared across the whole Job and can reference measurements from multiple groups at once.
Use Area Maps when you want to see where windows, doors, or other measured items sit on a plan and quickly relate measurements to real-world locations on the drawing.
Adding an Area Map
To add an Area Map, open a Template Job and select the Area Map tab at the top of the Job workspace.
Drag and drop the file you want to use (such as a floor plan PDF or image) into the upload box, or click the box to browse and select it, then press Upload to set it as the Area Map for that Job.
Annotating the Area Map
After the image uploads, it opens with an annotation toolbar along the top, where you can draw shapes, highlight, and erase annotations directly on the map to call out important areas.
The toolbar also includes Magic Annotations so you can place measurements from Measurement Groups automatically add images, text, and links, zoom in and out, search text, select multiple annotations, and save the document once your markup is complete.
