The annotation toolbar provides a set of tools, from left to right, for drawing, marking up, and linking measurements on top of your files.

Drawing and Markup Tools

These tools let you sketch directly on the file to highlight measurements, edges, or problem areas.

Straight line drawing: Draws straight lines with adjustable weight and style, ideal for marking edges, spans, or reference lines.
Marker drawing: Freehand pen or marker for circling areas, rough sketches, or quick handwritten notes.

Smart tools help you rapidly add context from existing data without redrawing everything by hand.

Magic annotations: Scans the document and suggests or applies annotations in likely locations based on your existing groups or labels.
Add measurements from job: Inserts measurement tags pulled directly from the active BOLDR Pro job so you can pin live values onto the file.

Use these tools to layer additional information and references on top of your drawings or photos.

Add image: Places an image onto the page, such as detail photos, sketches, or manufacturer diagrams.
Add text: Adds text boxes where you can type notes, labels, or instructions with configurable font and alignment.
Add link: Inserts clickable links that can point to external resources, job items, or other documents.

Navigation tools help you move around the document, while selection tools control which annotations you are editing.

Zoom in/out: Magnifies or shrinks the view so you can work on fine details or see the full page.
Change page: Moves between pages in multi-page documents (for example, Page 1 of 3).
Search in file: Finds text matches within the document so you can jump to specific rooms, notes, or labels.
Multiple annotation selection: Selects multiple annotations at once so you can move, edit, or delete them together.

The save tool commits your changes so all drawings, notes, and measurement tags stay attached to the file for future review.

Use Save after finishing your markup to ensure your annotations are stored in the job and visible to your team.
