BOLDR Pro lets you import measurements and related data from a CSV file directly into a Measurement Job, so you can bring in existing spreadsheets with labeled input fields without typing them in manually. This action can only be completed on the Desktop web portal.
Starting an Import & Choosing a Group Type
- Open the Project and Measurement Job where you want the data to appear, then click the + Add button in the top-right corner of the screen.
- From the dropdown menu, choose CSV.
- You will be prompted to select how you want your imported data to be structured. Choose one of the following options:
- Import List Group: Converts your CSV data into standard, individual measurement tiles organized into grouped sections. Best for simple measurement lists.
- Import Form Group: Converts your CSV data into a structured data table within your Job. Each row represents an item and columns represent your mapped fields (such as Width, Height, or Quantity). Best for structured spreadsheet data like window or door schedules.
Uploading Your CSV File
- On the import screen, drag and drop your CSV file into the upload area or click the box to browse and select a file from your computer.
- If you are not sure how to structure your file, click Download Example Table to download a sample CSV template you can use as a starting point.
- Click the Import button to continue.
Mapping Columns and Selecting Fields
- After the file processes, review the list of your CSV columns on the Mapping Properties screen.
- Check the box in the Import column for every row you want to bring into the Measurement Job.
- Use the Property Type dropdown to assign each CSV column to a BOLDR input field so the data lands in the right place.
- Measurement: Use for numeric dimensions (length, width, height).
- Group Title: Use for columns that describe areas or sections to organize imported items into groups.
- Text: Use for custom data, quantities, or specific material callouts (for example, glass type or finish).
- Template: Use to map items to existing project templates.
- Label: Use to define the name for an individual measurement.
- Notes: Use for comments or free-text descriptions.
- Unit: Use to specify the unit for a measurement (for example, inches or millimeters) to override default units per row.
- Any CSV column you leave unmapped or with the Import box unchecked will be ignored.
Finishing the Import
- When you are satisfied with your mapping selections, click Finish Import in the top-right corner.
- The imported data appears in your Job's views formatted as either a List Group or a Form Group based on your initial selection.
