[BOLDR] Importing CSV File of measurements

BOLDR Pro lets you import measurements and related data from a CSV file directly into a Measurement Job, so you can bring in existing spreadsheets with labeled input fields without retyping them in. This action can only be completed on Desktop.

Starting an Import from a Measurement Job

  1. Open the Project and Measurement Job where you want the data to appear, then click the Add button in the top-right corner of the Job.
  2. From the dropdown menu, choose CSV to open the import screen for that Measurement Job.

Uploading Your CSV File

  1. On the import screen, drag and drop your CSV file into the upload area or click the box to browse and select a file from your computer.
  2. If you are not sure how to structure your file, click Download Example Table to download a sample CSV template you can use as a starting point.

Mapping Columns and Selecting Fields

  1. After the file uploads, review the list of CSV columns that you can map to BOLDR Pro fields, such as measurements, group titles, and text fields.
  2. Use the mapping controls to choose how each column should be imported, and check the Import box only for the columns you want to bring into the Measurement Job.

How CSV Columns Map to BOLDR Measurement Fields

During mapping, each CSV column is assigned to a specific BOLDR input field type so the data lands in the right place in your Measurement Job.

  • Measurement: Use for columns that contain numeric dimensions (for example, length, width, or height), so they become measurement tiles in your Job.
  • Group Title: Use for columns that describe areas or sections (such as room names or zones) so imported measurements are organized into the correct Measurement Groups.
  • Label: Use for columns that define the label or name for an individual measurement, such as “Width,” “Height,” or “Measurement 1.”
  • Notes: Use for columns with comments, descriptions, or other free text that should appear in the Notes area for each measurement.
  • Unit: Use for columns that specify the unit for a measurement (for example, inches or millimeters) when you want to override or explicitly set units per row.

Any CSV column you leave unmapped or with Import unchecked will be ignored, allowing you to bring in only the fields that match your template and Measurement Job structure.

Finishing the Import

  1. When you are satisfied with the mapping and selected fields, click Finish Import to create the measurements and entries inside your Measurement Job.
  2. The imported data will appear in your Job’s views, where you can edit, group, and use it just like measurements created directly in BOLDR Pro.
