In BOLDR Pro, you can import existing Templates or Utilities into a template job so you can reuse standardized layouts, groups, and calculators when building new measurement workflows. This is the ideal way to start template jobs (rather than creating from scratch).
What Happens When You Import a Template
When you import a Template or Utility into a template job, BOLDR Pro copies the template’s groups, labels, and measurement structure into that job.
The imported content appears as additional sections and tiles in the template job, ready to be configured or reused without rebuilding the layout from scratch.
Importing Templates on Mobile
- Open your template job in the Workspaces tab on your mobile device.
- Select Template to open the Template Library.
- Browse the available Utilities and Templates, then tap the template you want to add and how many copies you would like to import.
- Once you have selected your desired template, you can immediately save it to your job, or enter the inputs you want added to the template first, then save.
- Tap Save All in the top-right corner to import the template into the job.
The imported template appears as a new section at the bottom of the template job (note it may take a few seconds to process fully).
Importing Templates on Desktop
- Open your template job in BOLDR Pro on a desktop browser.
- Click the + Add button in the top-right corner of the job.
- Select Template to open the Template Library.
- Switch between the Utilities and Template Library tabs to find the item you want to import.
- Click the + icon on one or more templates to select them, then choose how many copies of that template you want to import.
- Click Use Templates to confirm the import.
Imported templates are added to the bottom of the current template job, where you can further edit fields, inputs, and layout as needed.
How Imported Templates Look in a Template Job
Inside a template job, imported templates appear as new sections with their own measurement tiles, labels, and group headers, just like templates you created directly in that job.
Each imported section behaves like any other part of the template, so you can adjust input fields, end treatments, and notes before using the template job to capture measurements in projects.
It's important to note that inputs for an imported template can't be edited in board/list view once the inputs have been added. To edit, you'd need to click on the desired template's header, which will the open the template for editing.
