The Laser Distance Measure (LDM) is the second tool on the T1R Range, allowing you to capture accurate measurements up to 165ft (50.29m). It is ideal for fast layout, long spans, and hard-to-reach distances.
Switching to Laser Distance Measure
- From the Home View, long press the Laser Toggle (3 seconds) button until the screen inverts to black.
- The T1R will show dashing on the display. Press the Capture button to enter the tool.
To switch back to the Digital Tape Measure, long press the Laser Toggle button again.
Taking a Measurement
- With the LDM active, aim the device at your target surface.
- Single press the Laser Toggle button to turn on the green laser alignment.
- Press the Capture & Exit button to capture the measurement.
Saved measurements are stored in the Saved Measurements List on the device and sent to the BOLDR Pro App if connected via Bluetooth.
NOTE: Measurements in LDM mode are taken from the back of the device automatically. A bracket icon on the right side of the screen indicates the T1R is measuring from the Measure Back reference point.
Manual and Continuous Measuring
By default, the T1R captures a single measurement each time you press Capture & Exit. You can switch to continuous measuring mode, which updates measurements in real time as you move the device, making it easy to find exact distances quickly.
- Long press the Capture button to toggle between manual and continuous measuring mode.
LDM Modes
The Laser Distance Measure includes several specialized measuring modes accessible from the menu.
Point to Point (P2P)
Measures the straight-line distance between two points using the laser for fast, direct measurements.
Indirect Length
Calculates horizontal distance when a direct measurement isn't possible, using angled laser readings.
Indirect Height
Determines vertical height by measuring angles and distances. Ideal for walls, ceilings, or exterior elevations.
Stakeout
Helps mark repeated distances by alerting you when you reach a preset measurement. Ideal for layout and spacing tasks.
Laser Alignment Offset
The green laser alignment is intentionally offset by 1.760mm forward of the Measure Front reference surface. This is by design and does not affect the accuracy of your measurements and is automatically accounted for when turned on
Dashing on the Display
Dashing will appear on the display when switching from the Digital Tape Measure to the Laser Distance Measure. This is normal. Press the Capture button to enter the tool and the display will clear.
