Keeping your REEKON tool's firmware up to date ensures you have the latest measurement accuracy improvements, performance fixes, and BOLDR Pro compatibility. Firmware is installed wirelessly through the BOLDR Pro mobile app over Bluetooth, so the process takes just a few minutes with your tool nearby.
Before You Begin
Make sure the BOLDR Pro app is installed and up to date on your mobile device, that Bluetooth is enabled, and that your REEKON tool is powered on and within range. We also recommend keeping your tool charged throughout the update so it does not power off mid-installation.
Updating Firmware in the BOLDR Pro App
Follow these steps to check for and install the latest firmware on your connected tool.
- Open the device menu. Open your job in the app and tap the connection icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Search for tools. Tap Search for Tools to scan for nearby REEKON devices.
Connect the device. Tap the + icon next to your tool in the discovery list. If your tool is already connected, tap its card to open the Device Detail menu and tap the red Update Firmware button instead.
- Accept the update prompt. When the Firmware Update Available prompt appears, tap Update Firmware.
Select the firmware version. A menu slides up from the bottom of the screen showing your current version and the latest available version. Tap the latest version to confirm your selection.
- Wait for the installation. The Updating Tool screen displays a progress bar with the estimated time remaining as it moves through the Prepare, Update, Verify, and Restore phases. Keep the app open and your tool nearby until it finishes.
Accept the pairing request. Near the end of the update, a system Bluetooth Pairing Request appears. Tap Pair to finalize the connection.
- Confirm completion. When the process finishes, a green checkmark appears at the bottom of the screen with the message "Firmware has been successfully updated!"
