The T1R has an internal rechargeable battery that charges over USB-C.
Charging the T1R
The USB-C port sits behind a protective cover on the side of the tool, which keeps sawdust and moisture out of the port on the jobsite.
- Locate the USB-C port cover on the side of the T1R and gently lift it to expose the port.
- Insert the provided USB-C cable into the port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible power source.
- Confirm the charging icon appears on the screen. If it does not, reseat the cable at both ends.
- Allow approximately two hours for a full charge.
- Disconnect the cable and press the port cover firmly back into place.
Replacing the port cover matters more than it might seem. An open port collects grit and moisture, both of which can interfere with charging later on.
Checking Battery Level
The Home Screen displays battery level at all times, so you can check remaining charge without leaving your current measurement. When the tool is plugged in, a charging icon appears alongside the battery indicator to confirm power is reaching the device.
Battery Care and Storage
Temperature is the main thing that shortens battery life. Do not store or use the T1R where temperatures rise above 140°F (60°C) or fall below -4°F (-20°C). A closed truck bed in summer and an unheated shed in winter will both exceed those limits. The tool performs best in cool, dry conditions, in relative humidity between 8% and 80% non-condensing, and below 9,842 ft (3,000 m) of altitude.
If you are putting the T1R away for an extended period, charge it first and store it somewhere climate-controlled rather than in a job box or vehicle.
