The T1R can emulate a keyboard, connecting to any Bluetooth-enabled device as an HID Keyboard on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android. Once paired, pressing Capture sends the measurement exactly as it appears on the T1R's screen into whatever text field you have selected.
This lets you enter measurements directly into forms, spreadsheets, notes, messages, and third-party software without an app on the receiving device.
An additional option will appear in keyboard mode in the Quick Menu where the user can temporarily disable it to show the keyboard, which is an issue on iOS devices specifically.
Enabling Keyboard Mode
- Press Menu to bring up the quick action menu.
- Use the arrows to highlight CONFIG, then press the Mneu button to Confirm.
- Highlight Bluetooth Mode and press Confirm.
- Select Keyboard.
- Press the Capture button (+) to exit
- A keyboard icon should now appear on the home screen

The T1R cannot connect to the BOLDR Pro app while in Keyboard Mode. The two modes are mutually exclusive — switch Bluetooth Mode back to App to resume sending measurements into your jobs.
Pairing to a Device
With Keyboard Mode enabled, the T1R appears as a keyboard in your device's Bluetooth settings. Pair it the way you would any other Bluetooth keyboard.
Sending Measurements
Tap into any text field on your device, then press Capture on the T1R. The measurement is typed in at the cursor in the same format shown on the tool's screen, so your units and resolution settings carry across.
Additional Settings
Some of the additional settings afforded by the keyboard mode include

The user can select what key is entered after the measurement is sent over, including:
- Enter
- Tab
- Space
- Comma
- Semicolon
- None
