Firmware updates occasionally fail to install on the first attempt. In most cases the fix is simply running the update again, but the steps below resolve the more common causes before you retry.
Check Your App Version First
An out-of-date BOLDR Pro app is the single most common reason an update fails. Check the App Store on iOS or the Play Store on Android and install any available update before trying again.
If you have just updated the app and the new firmware version still does not appear, allow up to 48 hours for it to become available.
Before You Retry
- Charge the T1R. A low battery can interrupt an update partway through.
- Confirm Bluetooth Mode is set to App. The tool cannot be updated in Keyboard Mode.
- Confirm Bluetooth Status is on.
- Restart your mobile device.
- Stay within a few feet of the tool and keep the app open for the whole update.
Retrying the Update
Run through the full procedure again from the start, exactly as described in [T1R] Updating Firmware. A partially installed update needs to be reinstalled rather than resumed, so there is no harm in repeating the process.
If the tool displays a message telling you an update is required, that is expected after a failed attempt and clears once the firmware installs successfully.
If It Still Will Not Update
If the update fails repeatedly, note any error code shown on the tool along with your current firmware version and BOLDR Pro app version, then contact us at contact@reekon.tools.
