[T1] Recharging and Installing the B1 Battery

The T1 Tomahawk is powered by the REEKON b1 Battery. The b1 battery can be charged with the onboard USB-C port (located in the battery bay) as well as with the b1 wall charger (sold seperately).  Batteries arrive 60% charged or less due to shipping regulations so it is recommended to charge the battery to full capacity on delivery.

The T1 Tomahawk is charged using a standard USB C cable.  With the battery installed and the cover raised slightly, the USB cable can be inserted and the battery charged.  When properly connected, the T1s screens will both display "Battery Charging" on them.

  • The T1 takes approximately 3-4 hours to recharge.  The screen will not change once it is fully charged as of now.  This will be addressed in an upcoming update
  • The T1 is not useable while being charged (with newer version REV B T1s, this is possible)

Ensure you have upgraded your firmware to the latest version as we continue to make battery saving improvements with each new release.

1) Remove the battery from its protective packaging

2) Slide off the battery cover.

  • Battery cover is located in the rear of the tool and slides up (in the direction the arrow is pointing).  While it needs to be completely removed for installing the battery, it can be partially slid up for recharging.

3) Insert battery

  • REEKON Logo on Battery and T1 should both match and there is only one way that the b1 battery can be installed in the tool

4) Reinstall cover until it reaches the USB-C port

  • Battery charge status is displayed on the top of the e-paper display

5) Recharge T1

  • Screens will display "Battery Charging" once active
  • Full charge (from dead battery) generally takes 3-5 hours depending on charger used
  • As of now, the screen does not change when battery is fully charged

6) Once fully charged, remove cable and slide down cover

  • Status will not change on the display when fully charged.  Remove after 5 hours and should be fully charged

  • My unit will not hold a charge, I am making sure it is completely turned off after each use, yet the battery continues to drain.

  • Where is the "b1 wall charger"? I don't see it on the Products/Store pages.  How long will it take to charge the battery (hopefully much faster than the USB-C cable).

  • My battery won't charge past 92-93%. Been plugged in for almost 24 hours.

  • I charge this battery for at least 8 hours and it won't even last 1 hour. The screen kept on blinking. I bought this unit about 4 months ago and only used it like 3 times. What I am doing wrong when it comes to charging it or is this battery defective?.

  • I charge my T1 for 10 hours and get barely 1 hour of total use even without the laser. Got it from kickstarter and get no help. It’s a pretty expensive piece of junk At this point, what will you do?

  • I am also having issues with my T1 not holding its charge, any updates on how to help resolve this?

  • HI Chase, as long as its a certified USB-C Charger then it should have no problem working with the T1

  • Hi Derrick,

So far, I love the T1. The M1 I purchased a while back revolutionized my productivity in the shop, so thank you for coming up with these products.

Quick question regarding the recommended power supply rating:

Is it safe to use a higher-wattage power supply like my "fast charge" 20w charger? I don't think it would damage anything. Perhaps it could improve the time needed to fully charge it.

I'd like to know your thoughts. Thanks!

  • Yes, it should be quicker but we have not finalized the specifications yet

  • So the wall charger will also take 5h?  My Canon camera battery is a slightly larger capacity than this battery, and it takes less than 1h on the wall charger.  Hoping your wall charger is similar - wouldn't want a dead tape measure in the middle of working w/it and having to wait hours...

  • Hello, the wall charger will be available later this year.  USB-C will charge the battery in 5 hours.

  • I just recieved my t1 tomahawk. I'm trying to charge I don't see any charging indicators. Came with 69% charge, not charging past 69%

  • Hi Alton, the battery indicator on the T1 Tomahawk is only accurate within +/- 10% based on circuitry limitations so this is normal and battery should be fully charged!
