[T1R] Measurement Units

The T1R displays measurements in fractional, decimal, or metric formats. Set it once to match how you work and every measurement follows.

Changing Units

1. Press Menu to bring up the menu.
2. Use the arrows to highlight the Units menu.
3. Press Confirm to enter it.
4. Use the arrows to highlight the unit you want.
5. Press Confirm to save and exit.

Available Units

The Units menu is a single scrolling list. English units appear first, followed by metric.

• INCH — inches, displayed as fractions
• FT. IN. — feet and inches, displayed as fractions
• INCH DEC. — inches, displayed as a decimal
• FEET DEC. — feet, displayed as a decimal
• MM — millimeters
• CM — centimeters
• M — meters

Your current units are shown on the Home Screen at all times.

Additional Unit Settings

Further down the same menu are separate settings for calculated and angular measurements, each with its own submenu:

• VOLUME UNITS — units for volume results
• AREA UNITS — units for area results
• LEVEL UNITS — units for level and angle readings
• FRACTIONAL RESOLUTION — how precisely fractional measurements are displayed

Because these are set independently, you can work in inches while displaying area in square feet if that suits the job.

Display Resolution

How precisely measurements are displayed is controlled by Fractional Resolution, not by your unit selection. These options are only available when using English units. S

Fraction Resolution

When you are working in an English unit, Fraction Resolution controls how finely the T1R rounds what it shows you. Set it from the Units menu.

Fractional increments are available at 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32. You can also set decimal precision to two places (.XX), one place (.X), or whole numbers.

Resolution is a display setting, not an accuracy setting. Choosing 1/32 does not make the tool more accurate than choosing 1/4 — it only changes how much of the measurement the T1R shows. Pick the resolution that matches the tolerance you are working to, so the display is not implying more precision than the job needs.

Fraction Resolution options are only available when using English units. In metric, measurements display in millimetres, centimetres, or metres according to the unit you have selected.
