[T1R] Diagnosing Retraction Issues

Although tape retraction issues are rare, you can follow these steps to determine if your T1R is experiencing this problem:

1. Check Tape Extension
   • Attempt to extend the tape.
   • If the tape cannot be extended, proceed with the following steps.
2. Remove the optical reader module (see [T1R] Reader Module Replacement for the full guide)
   • Unscrew the 2 screws that hold the reader module in place on both sides of the T1R.
   • Slide the reader module out of the mouth of the T1R (complete removal from the blade is not required).
   • Remove the top auto lock mechanism from the bottom portion of the reader module.
3. Test Tape Retraction
   • Check if the tape extends and retracts properly now.

Diagnosis
